The balance sheet strain gets worse when you realize much of that $600B+ in annual capex is chasing construction capacity that's already oversubscribed — the construction industry needs 499,000 new workers in 2026 alone and the electrician pipeline produces a fraction of that, so the money is there but the hands to deploy it aren't.
